This item is a part of the following collections. Royal Araina Collection: Gemstones that you "fall in love" with. Why choose one gemstone rather than another? That is where Harshil comes into his own, revealing that his sensibility extends far beyond simple expertise.

In addition to applying the gemological selection criteria, he seeks out stones that speak to him: those that evoke an idea, bring out an emotion, recall a memory, or tell a story. Every gemstone in the "Royal Araina Collection" is a rare, timeless treasure highly sought-after by discerning collectors and gem connoisseurs. "Treasures of the Earth" is a collection of noteworthy gemstones hand-picked by our team of gemstone experts. Every gemstone in this collection will captivate you with its intrinsic beauty and spectacular flair. It's safe to assume that the majority of Kashmir sapphires found today were, in fact, mined during the short window of abundance after a notorious landslide in the Himalayan mountains in 1881.

This spectacular 7.19 ct. Kashmir is very likely one of a select few. Possessing an indescribable hue, Kashmir sapphires tend to retain their radiance in any light and express a soft texture that is often compared to velvet.

In any light, this crystal sings, and the rectangular cushion shape lends itself to a gorgeous ring design! Harshil Zaveri, Founder & CEO. Gemstone & Variety: Natural Blue Sapphire. Geographic Origin: Kashmir - India. Measurements (L x W x H): 10.97 x 8.59 x 7.78 mm.

Intensity of Color: Moderate to Strong. Clarity description: This stone is almost completely free from eye-visible inclusions. Gemologist's Comments on Clarity: Such a high level of transparency is rarely seen in natural & unheated/untreated blue sapphires of Kashmir origin, particularly in stones over 3 carats in weight. Fluorescence is the visible light some gemstones emit when exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays.

We've described below the intensity and color of the gemstone's fluorescence under long-wave UV light (LWUV). Fluorescence Color: Yellow-Orange in Zone. Velvety Appearance: This gemstone exhibits an appearance that is classified as "velvety". Such an appearance results from very fine microscopic particles that scatter light, causing the coveted visual effect without negatively affecting the gem's transparency. Gemstones with a velvety appearance have little to no extinction, display a warm glow, and look very pleasing to the eye. Therefore, velvety appearance is considered a highly sought-after trait in gemstones. The most prominent examples of gemstones coveted for their velvety appearance are the legendary Kashmir sapphires. Large Size: The size of this gemstone is large compared to the commonly available sizes in this species/variety, making it rare and highly sought-after.
